Our Goals

Hinenu is initially focusing on medical institutions that typically have fewer resources and greater needs.

In the short term: We are assessing the needs and interests of medical institution departments that could benefit from hands-on assistance and knowledge exchange with international medical volunteers but lack adequate resources to implement such a program.  The more immediate department needs may be due to the war.  Long-term needs and interests can be related to mentoring or interacting with residents, specific knowledge, and expertise exchange, and other clinical or academic activities.

In the medium term: Based on the healthcare institutions’ expressed needs and interests, Hinenu will develop institution and department-specific onboarding/orientation materials, education, and training in collaboration with the institution and department. These materials and orientation processes aim to facilitate the onboarding of foreign physician volunteers with minimal burden on institutional staff.  Our goal is to maximize the ability of physician volunteers to contribute to their assigned department.  As part of our program, we can assist healthcare institutions with the ongoing management of rotations of foreign clinicians, logistics, and hands-on assistance with onboarding incoming volunteers to the department.

In the long term: Hinenu and the Israel Medical Association (IMA) will be developing programs according to the priorities of institutions and departments, long-term collaborations, and programs to maintain these relationships.  This may include continuing medical education programs, on site clinical programs, skill development training programs, research and academic collaborations, conferences, and other programs.
