What are my donations used for?

Hinenu’s staff is working diligently to help with volunteer processing, pre-vetting, and facilitating institutional volunteer selection. We meet with Israeli health institutions to help assess what their needs are for volunteers, and we develop programs to overcome barriers facing these departments in onboarding foreign medical volunteers. Our programs, developed in partnership with the Israel Medical Association, will enable hospitals with volunteer needs to get volunteers on board.

Many of the current needs are war-related, stemming from staff members who have been drafted to the IDF, increased patients related to war injuries, and displaced populations in Israel.  In Eilat, for example, the city population has doubled with displaced populations from the Gaza boarder living in hotels.  These population shifts put added pressure onto the established health systems.

We are also helping community hospitals and hospitals in the periphery develop long term relationships with foreign medical volunteers with goals of helping to achieve departmental development goals, academic and clinical collaborations, and facilitating relationships between international volunteers and Israeli medical organizations.

All funds are being used for these purposes – with both short and long-term goals in mind.
